“My objective as a fashion designer is to create ‘wearable works of art to be treasured’.” - Donna Elizabeth

Donna graduated in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in Contour Fashion Design from De Montfort University in Leicester. Prior to this she studied a BTEC National Diploma in Fashion Design and a GNVQ Intermediate in Art and Design at The Isle College in Wisbech. During her fashion design studies, she won three first prizes in design competitions, sponsored by external companies.

  • Shadowline (Lingerie - body, bra and briefs design) - 1996

  • Richard Granger (Eveningwear - dress, basque and thongs) - 1999

She also became a finalist in the Igedo Fashion Future Award in 1996, where she saw her lingerie collection hit the catwalk at the International trade fair in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Career

Following graduation, Donna worked as a Junior Designer at A.S. Lingerie in Portsmouth, and at Ann Summers in Croydon, designing lingerie for both the Ann Summers brand and for external clients such as Topshop and Laetitia Allen.

Present Day

Donna Elizabeth works from a tranquil studio, surrounded by books, art and plants. She lives with her family (her fiance, Paul, and her six year old daughter, Delilah) in a Victorian House in Bedfordshire.

“I am inspired by almost everything as a fashion designer. A texture in nature can be translated into a fabric print or embroidery. A painting at an art gallery has the potential to form a colour palette. A style of architecture can inspire the entire shape of a garment. There are endless streams of creative possibility.” - Donna Elizabeth
